The MAAM Reading WWII Weekend is one of the largest WWII reenactor events and Air Shows in the nation. Each year during the first full weekend in June, thousands of reenactors and hundreds of WWII Vehicles and Airplanes gather to recreate the look and feel of life during WWII. In addition to military displays, there are entire hangers dedicated to the homefront and what life was like for civilians during the war. It is a 3-day event and first time attendees may find that they need more than one day to see everything.
Be sure to visit the main hanger where you will be able to meet and get pictures and autographs from actual WWII veterans. Other highlights include batlle reenactments and even a
flamethrower demonstration. Rides in genuine WWII airplanes can be purchased ahead of time and I suggest doing so as they usually sell out by the start of the weekend.
Below are pictures from the last few years that we have attended.
